About MMC
Founded in 1993, the Metro Mayors Caucus is a non-partisan, voluntary and collaborative regional organization comprised of mayors from throughout Colorado's Denver metropolitan area.

The Caucus was initially convened at the request of a small group of mayors who had participated in Denver Mayor Federico Peña's transportation funding dialogues and wanted to reestablish mayor-to-mayor communication. The Caucus has since grown to include 40 cities and towns within the region. Member municipalities include small towns of less than 500 and large cities of hundreds of thousands population. Collectively, MMC member jurisdictions comprise nearly 2.5 million people, nearly half of Colorado's population.

Nationally recognized for its ability to unite around difficult issues, the Caucus uses the consensus model for its decision making and adheres to the principle that each jurisdiction, regardless of its population, has an equally valid voice. The Caucus was the first of its kind in the nation, and has served as the model for similar organizations around the country.
