Metro Mayors Caucus Staff
The Metro Mayors Caucus is organized and managed by Civic Results, a Denver based non-profit firm. Principals and senior staff of Civic Results helped to organize and have provided strategic advice, policy support and staff to the Caucus since 1993.

Catherine MarinelliCatherine is the managing Principal at Civic Results and the Director of the Metro Mayors Caucus. Since 1996 she has worked with the Caucus to identify and address critical regional and local policy issues and implement Caucus policy initiatives. She organized the Caucus’ 6-year $130 mortgage bond program and served on the policy team facilitating the Mile High Compact on growth management. Catherine also led the MMC effort to partner with the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority to create a $57 million pool of funds for the finance of transit oriented affordable multi-family rental housing. Catherine drafted and oversaw the 2004 multi-jurisdictional process to refine and adopt the Denver Metropolitan Local Government Water Stewards Memorandum of Understanding signed by 28 jurisdictions and endorsed by more than 16 organizations and Governor Bill Owens. In 2005 Catherine led the multi-jurisdictional effort to draft Best Management Practices for water conservation (demand side) currently in use as an appendix to the Colorado Water Conservation Board's Model Water Conservation Plan. In 2006 Catherine led the multi-jurisdictional effort to draft and execute a memorandum of understanding on energy efficiency and conservation that was unanimously supported by the Caucus’ 37 member governments. Catherine has worked on special projects for agencies, local governments and foundations including the Regional Air Quality Council, the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Denver Regional Council of Governments, the Counselors of Real Estate, and The Denver Foundation. Catherine is a 2010 Gates Family Foundation Fellow and graduate of the Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Catherine has a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Denver and a B.A. in Political Science, cum laude, from Colorado State University.


Peter K 2.JPGPeter is a Founding Principal of Civic Results. Peter helped a small group of mayors to create the Metro Mayors Caucus in 1993 and since then has served variously as chief of staff, principal policy advisor, and consensus facilitator to Caucus members.He has more than forty years of policy development and management experience as both an elected official, in municipal and county governments, and as a public policy consultant. Peter's experience includes service as a mayor and a county commissioner in Clear Creek County. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) for seven years, serving as chair of the Executive Committee, and vice chair of the Board in 1992. Peter chaired DRCOG’s Long Term Care Task Force and served on the Transportation Committee. He served as president of Colorado Counties Incorporated and as chair of several committees and task forces for the National Association of Counties. Peter was the 1987 Colorado County Commissioner of the Year, and was the 1997 recipient of the John V. Christiensen memorial award from DRCOG. Peter was the recipient of a Gates Foundation Fellowship for the State and Local Government Executives Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. For 13 months begining in late summer 2003, Peter served under contract for the U.S Agency for International Development in Baghdad, Iraq as a principal advisor to new local governments throughout Baghdad Province.
